YouthFoster Care Club - "The Book Ends"
"The Book Ends" Foster Care Club is a support group that connects youth that are in the process of aging out of dependant care to former foster youth, of whom are leading independent lives.
Group members have access to resources that help connect them to the broader world. Internet and phones access are just a few of the technological resources openly available to the group. Independent learning materials are also available for the members to take home with them.
This is a safe and group-directed program where, at each meeting, group members take control of the agenda and program. Meals are prepared by the club members. Programming, including trips and activities, are planned by the group.
Additional Supports Available
Therapeutic activities such as special education and family crisis intervention are routinely offered. Volunteers from outside agencies present informal information sessions on topics ranging from banking, well baby care to housing options. As a member of the Foster Care Club, you are not required to take part in these additional services.
